Description:
The Pinhole–Hercules section of the San Francisco Bay Trail (SFBT) consists of several disconnected segments between Point Pinole Regional Park along the Pinole and Hercules waterfronts and Victoria by the Bay in Rodeo. The trail segments make for nice strolls for nearby residents and good spots to watch the trains run by. The trails run along the active UP freight and Capitol Corridor Amtrak lines.

The southern section runs through Pinole Shores Park; the middle segment runs from Bayfront Park in Pinole to the Hercules waterfront. A connecting trail is included in the map that runs along the sides of Pinole Creek and connects with the SFBT. The northern section runs along the Victoria by the Bay development and includes a park and restrooms at the entrance.

Additional segments are planned for connecting the trail into a continuous path. The East Bay Park District will bridge critical gaps and the Hercules Intermodal Center Connection project will complete two additional linkages around the Hercules transit center, linking rail, ferry and bus routes to the trail system.
