The Sharon Woods Loop Trail encircles a picturesque lake in popular Sharon Woods in Sharonville. The county park offers a visitor center, boathouse, golf course, picnic areas and athletic fields over 730 acres.
The trail courses primarily through dense woodlands along the lake’s shoreline, passing safely under Interstate 275 and E. Kemper Road to preserve the pathway’s serenity.
Parking for the Sharon Woods Loop Trail is available at a few parking lots for Sharon Woods off E. Kemper Drive. From Interstate 275 north of Cincinnati, take the exit for Sharonville and US 42. Head south on US 42/Lebanon Road to the main park entrance on the left. Trail users will want to continue deeper into the park by turning left on Buckeye Falls Drive and then left on Highbanks Drive. A couple of parking areas are available on both the left and right before E. Kemper Road.
The trail is closed through 2024 during lake renovation. An alternate trail has been mapped out on the www.greatparks.org website.
I went Longboarding here (there’s a sign or two that say “no in-line skates”, so I technically didn’t break any rules ¿). I didn’t mind the $5 to get in, but I do wish the path was a bit smoother. Overall, the path is pretty narrow, with a number of blind turns (usually at the bottom of a hill, of course), many ups and downs, and absolutely Gorgeous views of the water and woods. I’ll keep visiting periodically for as long as they keep letting me skate.
Good for walking and running, a little narrow and cracked up in spots for cycling. No roller skates allowed around the lake.I took the Gorge trail and Walnut Falls trail to add some distance. Recommend.
Rode this trail in first week of July. It had just flooded so it was very dirty and I could smell what the water had left on the trail. It was not pleasant to say the least. The trail itself is small and hardly any shading for it was quite hot that day. I would say if you like short rides then i would recommend this trail but do it early in the day or late unless you love being in the sun.
This place has alot of hill that are very steep. Tried different parts of the park and they were all no fit for any rollerblading. If you attempt to blade here be prepared to crash or go to the hospital.
I rode this trail near the end of May, last year. This loop trail within Sharon Woods MetroPark is a very pretty little trail around a man-made lake. The loop is about 2.5 miles long, with extensions to overlook the lake's harbor and to a lakeside lodge. I rode two laps around the lake as well as taking side trips to the harbor overlook and to the Lakeside Lodge for a total of 6.1 miles. The trail actually passes underneath I-275. There are a few short climbs that should not give anyone who bikes every once and a while any trouble. The path is paved but narrow (7-8 feet wide) with quite a bit of pedestrian traffic. I can't image how busy it must be on the weekends. If you're from out of town you will have to pay a one-time use fee of $5. Different levels of season passes are available for locals. This is run by the Hamilton County Metroparks. Definitely, worth a look. I'll be back.
Beautiful scenery, only wished they put arrows pointing to the different trails. I got lost on one of the trails dead ends, thankfully, so did two other people and we found our way back. Will go back again.
We rode this trail when we were in the area on business. The loop is scenic and shady. Hilly enough to be a challenge. Lots of parking.
