Silverthorne Recpath Description

The Silverthorne Recpath runs through Silverthorne, Colorado, connecting residents and visitors with the town's various amenities and the scenic Dillon Dam Recpath at its southern end. Both trails are part of the impressive Summit County Recreational Pathway System, which provides a paved off-road journey throughout the county, home to numerous ski resorts and other recreation opportunities.

The main trail stretches from the Dillon Dam Recpath north along Blue River Parkway/State Route 9 to Silverthorne's Three Peaks neighborhood. While not particularly scenic and broken up by several driveways and streets, the trail provides crucial access to many of Silverthorne's businesses and neighborhoods.

Two parallel trails—also considered part of the Silverthorne Recpath—branch off from the main one at Wildernest Road. Cross Blue River Parkway/SR 9 at the traffic light to travel along the western bank of the Blue River. Highlights along this stretch include the Silverthorne Town Center shopping pavilion and the White River National Forest's Dillon Ranger Station.

Alternatively, continue under Blue River Parkway/SR 9 at Wildernest Road to travel along the Blue River's eastern bank. This segment provides access to Silverthorne's town hall and library before dead-ending behind homes on Mesa Drive. Two trail bridges, as well as the 6th Street road bridge, connect the parallel trails over the Blue River.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking for the Silverthorne Recpath is available at many of the shopping centers along Blue River Parkway/SR 9 in Silverthorne. Be sure to obey any posted parking restrictions.
