Southwest Trail (Brown) Description

Aberdeen, in northeast South Dakota, hosts a growing network of shared use greenways, park trails and dedicated sidepaths. The Southwest Trail is a rail-trail, just a mile or so long. Starting on 16th Street, it cuts a swathe southwest to 5th Street East, partly a former railbed. The trail is paved and invites local residents to walk, ride or roll.

Parking and Trail Access

There is no dedicated parking for this trail. If coming from the surrounding neighborhoods you can access the trail on foot or by bike.
