Dreamy Draw Bikeway Description

The Dreamy Draw Bikeway passes through the Dreamy Draw Recreation Area in Phoenix, offering ample scenery and access to the area's rustic hiking trails. The trail begins at a residential neighborhood along N. 32 Street at Mountain View Road, paralleling Piestewa Freeway (State Route 51) for a short way. The trail then leads up and over the mostly barren hillside to end at where Dreamy Draw Drive and Royal Palm Road intersect in another residential neighborhood.

There is not much shade, but you will find shelters and water at the trailhead parking on Dreamy Draw Drive.

Parking and Trail Access

There is trailhead parking at the end of Dreamy Draw Drive in the Dreamy Draw Recreation Area. Shelters, water and restrooms are provided, along with ample parking places. To access Dreamy Draw Drive, take Northern Avenue under SR 51. The official address is 2421 E. Northern Avenue. The trailhead is open from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Paradise in the city of paradise valley

This trail is a godsend! Being stuck in the middle of a concrete and asphalt jungle is no fun on a 110 degree afternoon but this trail allows an easily accessed respite from the traffic and noise of Phoenix. Gorgeous mountain views, a couple hills and peace and quiet- all a stones throw off the 51 freeway right in the middle of town. Surface is a paved, with numberous dirt single track adventures leading out from this path cut through the dreamy draw. I like that there is easy access south down dreamy draw drive to Glendale road and the az canal. One of my favorite things to do is get a bite to eat at the trailhead bike cafe 16th st. And Glendale and ride a loop around squaw peak on this path, az canal, McDonald drive, desert fairways and mountain view rd. or throw in around camelback mountain too and try lafeyette rd and 64th st. To mockingbird. Ah paradise...
