Description:
From the Trail Website (http://trailnet.org/trail_main.php): Years after being proposed, the St. Louis Riverfront Trail has seen a lot of activity. The local non-profit organization Trailnet, along with Grace Hill Neighborhood Services, has assisted the City of St. Louis in this project. The trail is a developing 12 mile recreational greenway that is perfect for hiking, biking, rollerblading and the enjoyment of nature.

Poised along the Mississippi River, the trail offers an experience with diverse wildlife and native plants without the distraction of street traffic. It travels through a part of St. Louis history and along the edges of old St. Louis neighborhoods.

The Riverfront Trail begins at Lenore K. Sullivan and Biddle Streets at the old Laclede Power building. Plans are being made to connect the trail to the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge this year.

The Coast Guard Building rest area is open Tuesday-Friday from 7am to 7pm and Saturday & Sunday from 9am - 5pm. Rest room and water are available here.
