Stateline-to-Stateline Bikeway Description

The Stateline-to-Stateline Bikeway is an ambitious project to create a paved trail along the entire eastern shore of scenic Lake Tahoe. Planned to stretch from Crystal Bay in the north to Stateline in the south, the trail will run entirely in Nevada, touching the California border at both ends. The proposed trail is also a major component of a larger project known as America's Most Beautiful Bikeway, which will eventually encircle the entire lake.

For now, only a short portion of the Stateline-to-Stateline Bikeway exists at the project's southern end in Stateline. Beginning just north of the community's casino strip, the trail passes through scenic Rabe Meadow, where it features an arcing boardwalk over Burke Creek. Shortly thereafter, the trail meets the Nevada Beach Campground, home to the widest beach on Lake Tahoe and dozens of campsites.

From the Nevada Beach parking lot, a short spur leads along Elks Point Road to the WorldMark by Wyndham South Shore Resort. Pass through Elks Point Road instead to continue on the Stateline-to-Stateline Bikeway north. The remaining stretch winds through pine forest and provides access to Round Hill Pines Beach Resort and US 50.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking for the Stateline-to-Stateline Bikeway is available in a large trailhead on Kahle Drive in Stateline, just west of its intersection with US 50.
