The Swords Park Trail offers beautiful views of Billings and the Yellowstone Valley on a paved route of nearly 4 miles through the northern end of town. Springtime is especially pleasant with wildflowers blooming along the trail. Trailside benches and picnic tables provide places to rest and enjoy the scenery.
A highlight of your trip will be Swords Park, offering a scenic natural setting crisscrossed with walking paths and historic sites such as Boothill Cemetery, dating back to the late 1800s.
From the eastern end of the trail, you can also connect to the 2-mile Alkali Creek Trail, or the shorter Aronson Avenue Trail.
Head west and you'll travel along the sandstone formation known as Rimrocks (or The Rims) and then parallel the south side of Billings Logan International Airport.
Two parking lots are available off Airport Road: one at N. 27th Street and the other at Rimtop Drive. Limited parking is also available at Boothill Cemetery (off Aronson Avenue).
