Sycamore Trail Description

The Sycamore Trail, which opened in October 2014, provides an important connection between two other trails in Delhi Charter Township, on the south end of Lansing. At the trail’s northern end, it connects to the popular Lansing River Trail and, at its southern end, it connects to the Valhalla Trail.

Its northern end, at times, parallels roadways and offers connections to shopping and dining areas. But you will also find natural beauty in the rain gardens and wetlands of Maguire Park.

The southern end of the trail offers occasional woodland cover and partially parallels an active Norfolk Southern Railroad line. Along the way, the trail offers signage that identifies wildlife footprints.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available in Maguire Park (1845 Aurelius Road) at the north end of the trail.

Sycamore Trail Reviews

Scenic Views and Cool Bridges

I rode the Sycamore Trail on 7/24/22 and it was a great and scenic ride. Many wide open pastures, river, some industrial parks, the path kept away from the major roadways and noise. Very well traveled, well maintained, and had benches and a few restroom opportunities along the way. There were even some deer along the trail. I'd highly recommend the Sycamore Trail.

well done

I connected to this trail from the McGuire Park portion of the Lansing RIver Trail and enjoyed riding it even though it isn't that long. Well marked, nicely built boardwalks and generally smooth surface. A good add on to the Lansing rIde.

Tight-ish turns

Short connecting trail between Valhalla trail and the Lansing River trail. Good quality road, a wooden bridge to go under the highway, and several sharper turns. It’s hard to determine where you turn to continue on the Lansing River Trail from the Sycamore trail (pro tip: cross the street to start the Lansing river trail in Maguire park).
