Interesting Ride
By ckrt26s in October, 2010
The Taft Sunset Railway Trail is a great start for the city of Taft. Already, other additions to the trail are being realized: an oilman memorial, a display of the historical oil fields of the area, and oil equipment displays. Put this trail on your list.
AFTER SCHOOL

"Ample parking adjacent to the East Trail head N35.13820 W119.45542 elev 969’. A trail in a Green Belt through town. This grainy asphalt surface does not have one crack in the entire 1.11 mile length of the trail. Considering the hot summer temperatures which have faded all paint markings, this asphalt has an excellent formula that should be used on other trails. Well equipped with benches but no water or restrooms. Open views of old town and of mountains. Turned around at west end, N35.14116 W119.47402 elev 1066’.
