This trail is very close to my house but I have only ridden it once because there are at least 6 major intersections to cross in this very short distance.
The trail begins on Southwest Ave. off of Tallmadge Circle and there aren't any facilities or places to park for that matter. I parked at a business and had to walk my bike to the beginning of the trail. Once I started riding, the trail is literally a muddy tire track. Then I encountered a section that had 3-5 inch rocks and it was very uncomfortable and somewhat precarious to ride. I then encountered the first of several major intersections to cross. Each of these intersections is a road that leads into Tallmadge Circle. I had to wait a while at each crossing because of the large amount of traffic on each road.
I continued on the trail until I reached the end. The trail literally ends with several large stone blocks in the middle of the trail. The total distance was a little over 2 1/2 miles each way. I turned around and rode back, and once again had to cross all of the intersections. It took longer to cross the streets than it did to ride the entire trail.
If you have children, this trail is not very conducive for them. Crossing the roads can be hazardous. Also if you are walking, be careful of the large rocks on the trail and the muddy tracks that are supposed to be the trail.
There is also a new walking trail just north of the Summit County Fairgrounds which is on North Avenue (Rt. 91). The Bike and Hike Trail is just a few miles north of this trail off of Rt. 91(North Avenue) and is much better for biking.
