Description

Tallman Mountain State Park Bike Path is partially paved and bisects the Tallman Mountain State Park. The route provides a motor-vehicle-free way for bicyclists using US Route 9W to connect with downtown Piermont, New York. The park itself is heavily wooded on the easterly slope of the Palisades uplands and overlooks Hudson and Piermont Marsh (between the river and the slope).

Parking and Trail Access

A free designated trail user parking area is located on US Route 9W north in Palisades, about 0.2 mile north of Oak Tree Road on the east side of the road. Parking is limited here. You can also park off Rockland Road near the athletic fields. From Hillside Ave/US 9W, turn north on Rockland Road then shortly after turn east into the park. Follow the road a short distance to the parking lot on the right. Then ride your bike farther up the road, taking the first right, then right again at the Y. Just as the road takes its first bend to the left, you'll see the bike path on the right. NOTE: There is a user fee for entering the park by car.
