The Thorn Creek Trail is currently in two segments. This southern section is in Chicago Heights in the Sauk Trail Woods Forest Preserve. The trail makes a wide loop between Forest Preserve Drive and the opposite side (west shore) of Sauk Lake. Along the heavily wooded trail you're bound to see much wildlife. Visit the
northern segment in Glenwood.
There are plans to link the two disjoined segments, via the proposed Thorn Creek CSX Bike Path, bringing the total trail mileage of both segments (with the connector) to 17.5.
Park at Sauk Woods off Forest Preserve Drive north of 30th Street and off W. 26th Street west of Euclid Avenue.
