From Local Motion:
In 1955, the steamboat Ticonderoga was moved overland to its permanent resting place at the Shelburne Museum. To move this 220-foot side-wheel passenger steamer from Lake Champlain to the museum grounds, a special road had to be constructed. This mile long road, which has now been converted to a recreation trail, starts on Bay Road near Shelburne Bay Park, and connects to Harbor Road, just west of the Shelburne Community School.
