• 3rd Street Trail - Wichita

    The somewhat winding 3rd Street Trail parallels an irrigation ditch between Interstate 135 and Lorraine Avenue, making a link between disconnected 3rd Street via a non-motorzied route. Just under I-135 the trail links with the north–south running Canal Hike and Bike Trail.

  • Arkansas River Bike Path

    The 10-mile Arkansas River Path is Wichita's longest and most popular multi-use trail, running mainly along the southwest bank of the Big Arkansas River between 21st Street (near I-235) and Galena Street at S. Washington Street. There are also two disjointed paths along the west bank of the river; one parallels McLean Boulevard between Seneca Street and 13th Street. Here you can link in Sims Park via a pedestrian bridge (near Central and McLean Boulevard). The other loop is between Kellogg Street and Central Avenue.
    The Arkansas River Path provides access to parks and city attractions, including museums, the stadium, ice rink and the zoo.

  • Augusta Bike Path

    Situated along the eastern shore of Augusta Lake, the Augusta Bike Path serves as the primary bike trail for the community of Augusta. The trail connects residences and park facilities along the shores of the lake. For more information, visit the Kansas RecFinder.

  • Canal Hike and Bike Trail

    The 4.9-mile Canal Hike and Bike Trail runs underneath and alongside the I-135 Canal Route, starting at E. 17th Street N. (at McAdams Park) and heading south to Stafford Street (just north of Pawnee). Use caution as the path has several street crossings. Users can access the Bicycle Skill and Safety course in North Linwood Park, and there are many other nearby picnic and recreational opportunities.
    At its southern terminus, the Canal Hike and Bike Trail now links to the Gypsum Bike Path, passing through some residential streets.
    At its northern end at 17th street the Canal Hike and Bike Path now connects seamlessly to the K-96 Bike Path. The Canal Hike and Bike Trail also links to the McAdams Bike Path. Together these paths make one of the longest and nicest rides in Wichita, none of is on major streets except for several crossings with traffic lights.

  • El Dorado Bike Trail

    This concrete path was built in two phases, partly on an old railroad bed. The first phase completed in 1999. Safe and enjoyable entertainment and exercise for the whole family. The path takes pedestrians or bikers on a lovely excursion from East Park in the city out to the wooded trail area below El Dorado Lake dam. Two tunnels. Crosses scenic Walnut River. El Dorado Lake lies in the southern Flint Hills which is covered with virgin tallgrass prairie.

  • Gypsum Creek Bike Path

    The Gypsum Creek Bike Path runs for 6.5 miles along its namesake creek between Towne East Square at Douglas and Turnpike Drive. The trail parallels I-35 between Cottonwood Park and Plainview Park. The path offers access to parks, shopping, restaurants and major employers along the turnpike.

  • Haysville Hike and Bike Path

    The Haysville Hike and Bike Path is a system of trails and sidepaths that is located in the community of Haysville. The system connects many of the important features of this community, including schools, commercial and industrial centers, parks, religious facilities and public services.   • Jim P. Martinez Trail

  • K-96 Bicycle Path

    The K-96 Bicycle Path runs for 8 miles along the K-96 bypass, from the intersection of 127th Street East and Central Avenue to Hillside Avenue. A new trail, the McAdams Bike Path—which runs through the neighborhood of the same name—now links the K-96 Bike Path with the Canal Hike and Bike Trails.

  • McAdams Bike Path

    The McAdams Bike Path provides an important connection between two other popular trails: the K-96 Bicycle Path and the Canal Hike and Bike Trail. Together, these trails provide a critical and continuous loop through Wichita's neighborhoods and workplaces on the city's east side. Along the way, trail-goers will enjoy the natural settings of McAdams Park, Grove Park and Chisholm Creek Park.

  • Prairie Sunset Trail

    The Prairie Sunset Trail is located west of Wichita and runs between S. 295th Street in Garden Plain and S. 167th Street W. in the outskirts of Wichita. The trail is arrow-straight, occupying a portion of the old rail bed that once carried the Cannonball Stage Line. The trail passes through a mostly open corridor, in places wooded, traveling through farmland and by ponds and creeks.

  • Redbud Bike Trail

    The Redbud Bike Trail in northeastern Wichita is built along the former Burlington Northern Santa Fe rail corridor. Along the 2.5-mile route, the trail passes city parks, employment hubs, and the Wichita State University campus. The trail is planned to one day stretch 11 miles.

  • Sedgwick County Zoo/Park Path

    Despite its name, the Sedgwick County Zoo and Park Path makes several different loops throughout the park, totaling 8.9 miles, and doesn't really incorporate the zoo itself, except for going around its perimeter. The trail system makes for a pleasant, and traffic-free, excursion around small lakes, meadows and ball fields, and part of the trail courses along a scenic creek through a narrow wooded corridor.

  • Wichita Downtown Bikeway

    Wichita's Downtown Bikeway, a.k.a., Midtown Bike Path, is a short stretch of paved path that runs mostly along an adjacent widened sidewalk that parallels Central Avenue. The path crosses the river on Central then heads south to the Mid-America All-Indian Center, where it meets up with the Arkansas River Bike Path. The path features Victorian-style pedestrian lighting, brick columns and steel archways, a plaza in Otis Park in the form of a railroad turntable and landscaped gardens.

  • Zoo Boulevard Path

    The Zoo Boulevard Path runs along the diagonal Zoo Boulevard for 1.5 miles between Windmill Road and Central Avenue, where the trail heads ude east to the Arkansas River, joining the Arkansas River Bicycle Path.
