This was our first long/all day ride. The trail really was beautiful, well maintained and paved the whole way. We entered at mile 1 and rode to the GA/AL line. The trail beyond Piedmont, which is the last populated area you will pass, is fairly remote, and at a very, very slight incline. The return is much easier! There are a couple picnic tables at the state line but no bathrooms. We saw deer and turkey crossing the trail.
My partner and dog had the perfect afternoon walk on this trail!
Easy to walk and lots of nice views to see!
We’re from Charlotte, we have a trail similar to Big Creek (Sugar Creek), not nearly as long…we really enjoyed our ride and look forward to coming back.
This is the best multipurpose trail I've had the pleasure of using.
The trail was great, every now and then there are big hills and sharp curves. But it's best to do it when it's dry outside because there are lots of board walks.
Piedmont Park is Atlanta’s Central Park, and NYC’s park’s designer Olmsted was involved in the creation. The park offers winding paths and trails, as well as skyline views over lakes and fields. For runners, it connects to the Beltlines going both north and south, and also Freedom Parkway and the Carter Center. It is without doubt one of the best running venues in the United States. The only downside is crowds and lots of events.
What a pleasant surprise to ride this trail. It was my last day in Georgia and wanted to ride one more time before heading back north. It was an extremely hot day, being on mostly a tree covered trail, it was quite comfortable.
It was certainly hillier than I expected. I have ridden many trails I have found on TraiLink and this is on the top of my list of great trails.
We did all 9 miles and it was amazing. Lots of hills and even the south river bridge, would recommend this trail if you are looking for something challenging
It may not be long but it's a nice challenge and not crowded with lots of ops to stop and enjoy lunch or grab a beer.
