Burnt Bridge Creek Trail

not bad

January, 2017 by stephenpasquini

since I'm not from the area this was a neat ride to see some of the other parts of Vancouver it follows the electrical lines and a nice riverbed the ending is a bit anti-climactic but worth the trip overall

Discovery Trail

Awesome though the dunes but watch out going to Ilwaco

September, 2016 by 2r7h5f0

Beautiful morning ride. We started at 26th N. The farthest point north. The hotel there provides complimentary parking. Spectacular baby rollercoaster ride for 6.35 miles to Beard's Hollow. Got a little confusing there because the trail was gravel and steep after the bridge. We went back and found the trail to the lighthouse. Very Nice. Got directions from the park volunteer. We went back to the road, turned right up the hill and found the asphalt trail to Ilwaco. It was wet and slippery from fallen leaves. Control your decent carefully! My wife fell hard on the wooden bridge just before the end near Ilwaco. The bridge has "SLIPPERY WHEN WET" sign. IT IS!!! We walked the bridge on the way back. The next day we rode the dunes section again because it's absolutely gorgeous and not crowded on Monday.

Banks-Vernonia State Trail

Great place to ride, run, walk

September, 2016 by hal.brockman

I have used this trail extensively the past 5 years in preparation for Ironman 70.3. Great training course and easy transition area for bike to run. Having a place like this with ready access and no vehicle traffic is a wonderful resource for this area.

Marine Drive Trail

Marine drive, not for visitors.

July, 2016 by lhwksc

Visiting from out of town and wanted a local ride. Marine Drive does have a few problems with the route being marked well enough for visitors to follow. Anyone that says Marine Drive is lightly traveled is, well>>wrong in my opinion. Seems it would be good for locals that know the way but would warn visitors to be cautious

Discovery Trail

To and from Ilwaco

July, 2016 by gphillips1234

This is a great forested section of trail that is beautiful and fun! As noted in other posts, it includes some ups and downs, and it is definitely worth checking out. during the summer, consider combining your walk/hike with a visit to the Saturday farmer's market at the Ilwaco waterfront, where the trailhead is located.

Discovery Trail

Do not go all the way to Ilwaco

July, 2016 by cmcook42

When the Trail turns to Ilwaco it is not paved and very steep, up and down and up and down. The rest of free trail was beautiful and fun.

Banks-Vernonia State Trail

Beautiful Ride

June, 2016 by daleydoubl

Our time was limited so we rode from Vernonia to Stubbs-Stewart State Park and then back to Vernonia for a total of 23.3 miles. This trail is good for flat out hauling or a casual ride through the woods.
There is about a 3% grade to the park so the ride coming back seemed much faster. The trail was clean from any liter and kept extremely nice. Beautiful ride through the trees. On a hot day this would keep you shaded and cooler. If you need "fuel" don't forget your energy bar or what ever. You can get nuts and bars at the Visitor Center at the park. There are restroom facilities along the way so no worries there. It was a most pleasant ride and we are looking forward to seeing the other half of the trail on another day this summer. After the ride we ate at the Black Iron Grill in Vernonia. Good food and a nice relaxing lawn to rest our weary bones!

Best trail in cowlitz county!

June, 2016 by tiernab

I live in castle rock and bike/run this often. It goes by a bike park that my kids and I all love as well. It's a beautiful, well maintained trail and my favorite in cowlitz county.
