Shady Rest Path

Beautiful trail in tree shade

Very nice trail for walking, biking, and skating. For inline or roller skating, be careful about couple road cracks..so you just need to use it with caution, or be expert!

Town Loop

Beautiful Walk!

Very nice walk around the outskirts of Mammoth Lakes. Many beautiful views along the way however it is longer than advertised. I measured 8.2 miles but still worth the effort.

Lakes Basin Path

Unbelievably Beautiful Geared For All Ages

June, 2011 by joyt

This gorgeous new bike path leads from town up Lake Mary Road all the way to Horseshoe Lake. Families can load bikes on the Town Trolley at the Village and ride up to Horseshoe then coast down back into town. The trail winds through tall pines past lakes and over streams, through the Twin Lakes camp ground, passing the campground store, Lake View Restaurant, cabins and even through a separate bike path tunnel under the Chair 15 ski run.

This beautiful, Disneyland like trail hooks up with all the trails in town and has become the best reason to visit the Eastern Sierra, if you're not into golf, fishing, hiking, photography, walking, shopping, boating or any of the other recreation opportunities Mammoth Lakes offers visitors in the Summer and Fall. joy@lodging4vacations.com.

On the North side of Hwy 203/Main after Motel 6 one can use the N Frontage Rd and join the Trail again at Forest Trl to Welcome Center or through tunnel under Hwy 203 to 203 South Trail. On the South side of Hwy 203/Main the trail is partly on S Frontage Rd between Sierra Park Rd and Joaquin Rd. Both sides offer Attractive Extras.
