Lehigh Greenway Rail Trail

New spur open

March, 2024 by gary.kirkland

There is a new paved two-plus mile north-south spur, east of Old Kings Road, that now connects the trail to State Road 100.

Timucuan Trail

awesome trail. map is outdated

March, 2024 by bentfins

This was a terrific ride. Just beautiful. And the trail conditions are excellent. Once again, another outdated TrailLink map. The map as of March 2024 shows incomplete sections all along the A1A. That is wrong. It is a continuous run all the way up to the Crady Pier bathrooms.

Amelia Island Trail

Beautiful but Dangerous and Noisy

March, 2024 by bentfins

Way too many road and driveway crossings, noisy roads, and the white-knuckle major bridge crossing with interstate-speed traffic, all really diminish what would otherwise be a five-star trail.

Palatka-to-St. Augustine State Trail

A little rough in places

February, 2024 by suesettle08

We rode this trail on January 30, 2024 from the Vermont Heights Bike St. Augustine Trailhead to where the trail crosses 207 between the Cora C. Harrison Preserve Trailhead and the Bull-Hit Ranch. The trail is the best when it is away from 207 and there are stretches that are very bumpy where tree roots have pushed up the asphalt. There are several roads to cross as well.

Great Ride

February, 2024 by suesettle08

We rode this trail on Jan. 29, 2024. Based on the directions above, we couldn't find the trailhead and were fortunate to see the poles marking the end of the trail near the intersection of Royal Palm Parkway and Highway 1. We parked in front of a bike shop in a small strip mall and rode the sidewalk directly to the trail. About half a mile down the trail, we saw the bridge linking the trailhead to the trail. Farther down the trail we saw a spur to the east and headed down it. Another cyclist told us where it went so we rode across several bridges through the woods and swamp and across a high bridge that crosses highway 100. The trail then curves around to where we stopped at highway 100. The next day, we were heading down the coast and turned on the Royal Palms Parkway to see if we could find the trailhead and did so. There is a bike path that goes west along Rymfire in Rymfire Elementary School. Follow the path past the school to Ralph Carter Park - maybe half a mile - plenty of parking, restrooms and water.

Palatka-to-Lake Butler State Trail

Beautiful & Quiet

February, 2024 by brookeypav

Loved this trail as a distance skater! Did 42 miles on rollerskates. Started Keystone Heights in the morning. Quiet morning and saw the sunrise over the lakes. It was beautiful and just a quiet skate. Lots of little shrews & marsh rabbits spotted. Florahome is really cute. The surface is amazing…was perfect for skating. Averaged around 9 mph on rollerskates. Will be recommending this trail to any other skaters…just so serene :,)

Great Trail

Rode from Imeson Rd trailhead and went through Camp Milton park (where bathrooms are located on left, ~ 5.7 miles in). Great way to spend a chilly Thursday in January. Highly recommend!

Lake Butler to Palatka

January, 2024 by kirsten.baker

Great trail! I would start in Keystone Heights and park at any business and skip the 8 mile connector from Mike Roess Goldhead state park! 21 is a busy road, loud, and not much to see but run down homes and businesses! The trail itself is Beautiful, with nice scenery, smooth surface and you can get as long of a ride as you want! Not crowded on a Saturday in December and we got in 30 miles!

Halifax River Trail

Dangerous

December, 2023 by vjtwx8kgw5

I rode this cycling twice once on the sidewalks and once on the street. I went from Holly Hill into the Tomoka State Park to get some distance and back 20 miles total Tomoka is beautiful state park but not bike friendly by any means. People speeding all through the park posted at 30 or 35 miles per hour. You could write speeding tickets there ALL day long as well as down Beach Street/Riverside Drive. There’s no place in Ormond, Daytona, or especially in Holly Hill (very unsafe) that’s safe or has any suitable bike loops with any distance of bike friendly streets after crossing Granada the most horrendous 1970’s sidewalks & very narrow streets with no bike lanes Disappointed in these cities who haven’t improved the safety of bikers or runners. I have nothing positive to say other than driving into the beautiful park by car is suggested for your safety.

On that new section just opened west of keystone heights, about a quarter mile in on the north side of the road is a house with two unsecured yappy dogs who are prepared to battle all cyclists on the trail. Be prepared!

Palatka-to-St. Augustine State Trail

OK trail

November, 2023 by barbscondo

Rode on Saturday Veterans Day. The parade in Palatka was great. We parked at Riverfront Park. Rode across street to the Quality Inn parking lot and right there you can catch the trail over the river. Rest of trail easy to follow. It’s 3.5 miles to the start of the tree canopy portion. Trees end at 6.7. Then a straight hot ride along Hwy 207 to Hastings for a total of 11 miles. It was 84 today so feeling the heat and humidity. I was expecting a longer section of tree canopy. I’m glad we did it but most likely would not be in my list of repeats.
