MCT Nickel Plate Trail

Bumpy ride but beautiful

June, 2025 by trailrunner62_tl

I would have given this 4 stars if the trail was resurfaced and smooth.

Rend Lake Bike Trail

whispering pine loop to north Sandusky campground

May, 2025 by bfxg2hcjbr

We started at whispering pine loop and turned around at north Sandusky campground, this trail ended here. Such a great trail a few crazy spots behind the lake, but a fun trail to ride all concrete trail. We got rained but that even made it a lot more fun. We laughed so much.

Lincoln Prairie Trail

terrible

July, 2024 by blutrike_tl

After riding other trails I was truly disappointed with this one; wouldn’t you know it’s the closest to us and probably the worst! No upkeep whatsoever; it has potential for a nice ride, but there has been no maintenance for quite a while. It says on website that the village of Pana owns it…

Illini Trail

New trail signs are up. It is renamed the Illini Trail. It a short ride from the trail head down Illini Drive to the Goshen Trail.

Rend Lake Bike Trail

Smooth ride

June, 2024 by 4x9c6qc6yf

We were camping at South Marcum so that is where I started. The concrete path was in great shape, just like riding on a sidewalk. A short distance of hard packed gravel was a little rough, but easy to ride. I had to quit at the visitor center because of the rain, but I will definitely be back to finish the trail.

MCT Schoolhouse Trail

Schoolhouse/Goshen/Nature trail loop

April, 2024 by vc2019

Well maintained, nearly all paved trail. We started at trailhead at Metro east parks and rec center. You can find benches bathroom tools and even air for tires. Thanks!! Only warning is that trail has great signage until we were at Chained Rock and Sand Lane… guessed that we had to travel on crushed rock road over expressway to find rest of trail. Correct turn.

Rend Lake Bike Trail

Great Ride

October, 2023 by hollyraejoy

We started in the back of the South Marcum Campground, followed the path and rode out 11.5 miles around Dam to other side of lake. We saw 24 deer and other wildlife, had the trail all to ourselves, 23 miles round trip.

Lincoln Prairie Trail

Pretty good trail, very few issues imo

September, 2023 by redninjago07

This trail was overall very nice!! the only issue i had with it personally was that the first bridge i crossed, about a mile in, was blocked off with concrete dividers. thankfully, there were some desire trails going around these, so i was able to walk my bike over the bridge. it was a very long trail, and sometimes i wouldnt be able to find the the path again when it passed through an industrial or residential area, but that wasn’t really a big issue. i was riding my mountain bike, and the path was very clear and easy to ride on. only complaints i have are about the first bridge, and the mile markers were not clear enough, so i didnt really know where i was at.

Carlyle Lake Bike Trail

Which way do you go?

September, 2023 by jhoagland345

Agree with others that signage is needed. Riding the short distance by the lake was enjoyable on a sunny September day.

Rend Lake Bike Trail

great bike trail

September, 2023 by gavinlee5950

Stayed at Gun Creek Campground. Easily hopped on bike trail at golf course water tower. Trail was fully paved, rode through beautiful wooded sections.

MCT Nature Trail

It is a lovely trail. Nicely maintained and easily walkable on a nice day. Good views right next to the golf course, and a few creeks to view over bridges.
