Prairie Spirit Trail State Park

Easy, fun ride

April, 2024 by aeboe

Ottawa Trailhead to Richmond. About 27 miles round trip & 272 ft. climb. Quick, easy ride. Well maintained trail with good surface for our hybrid bikes. It was a destination trail for us and glad we made to effort to experience it.

Blue River Rail Trail

I’d highly recommend this trail.

Super nice trail!

Sunflower Santa Fe Trail

Great for families

January, 2024 by aleasha8502

We went with some friends and kiddos. Perfect for toddlers and pushing an all terrain wagon. The benches and gazebo are nice. The kids loved waving at a passing train. We live only a few miles away. Will do this one often. It’s very well maintained. Although, it’s clear some people walk dogs and don’t clean up behind them. There was a lot of poop piles.

Gary L. Haller Trail

Previously a top tier trail. Unfortunately has been overrun with either inattentive pedestrians/dog walkers or Tour de France "wannabes".

Riverfront Heritage Trail

awesomely terrible

November, 2023 by ydm7k9qxyt

If you start where the north east end of the trail is at ballys casino you will find A wide concrete trail with signage and benches. However, 1/10 of a mile end of the trail it’s all blocked off for construction of a stadium and a motel no way around. Back to the vehicle load up the bike and go to the next place you can get on. Ride for 1/4 mile stop for six flights of stairs. Fortunately, there is an elevator for bikers. However, at the top of the elevator, you’re right across a wooden bridge and it dumps you into a commercial industrial area With no signage or sign of a trail. This trail could be awesome but as it is, it sucks. that is totally lacking in a trail and any signage. I rode around for a half an hour in the industrial area, trying to find any sign of the trail. Finally, I gave up and turned around and wrote back. This trailer could be awesome

Blue River Rail Trail

I road this trail in September while driving cross country. Great trail long and straight with lots of farming activity during harvest season. Surface would handle road bikes. Great for gravel bike s. Marysville is a good town to explore.

Prairie Star Parkway Path

nice trail, needs more pet waste stations.

October, 2023 by kbergstrom28

This trail is right off of our neighborhood and has easy access to Gary haller trail. Wide enough for people walking dogs and bicycles to go by. Only issue is the pet waste station is on prairie star and ridge view, which is far down from the folks who live west of there. Would be nice if the city could add another one in closer to woodland rd to help with all the pet waste that isn’t picked up.

Gary L. Haller Trail

Lots of ups and downs - overall good trail

August, 2023 by swolters

Lots of short ups and downs on this trail. Trail was in good condition but not very scenic overall. The part where you have to ride on the sidewalk to go from one section of the trail to another was really bad in so much as it is single file only which is tricky if riders are coming from other direction.

Southwind Rail Trail

Fun Ride

August, 2023 by rutpup

Trail was very well-maintained, even after a hard rain. Humboldt community was amazing, lunch in Iola at Sharky’s was incredible… Try the beer, battered onion rings:-)

Sedgwick County Zoo/Park Path

Enjoyed

Very nice park easy to access! Plan to ride again when down from South Dakota!

Turkey Creek Streamway Trail

Great!

July, 2023 by thejuliemanning

I'm a beginer-ish biker and tend to enjoy paths that have a mix of shade and hills that aren't too intimidating. We started at Waterfall Park on the north side and went about 2 miles down and 2 miles back. This this one didn't have any hills that I even remotely made me consider getting off my bike to walk so that was really great. I think if I did this one semi regularly I'd definitely be able to gain more confidence! My new favorite!

Sedgwick County Zoo/Park Path

2nd Best Path in Wichita

June, 2023 by treehouse1441

As an e-bike owner, I like this path cuz it provides decent distance, is completely paved, and it’s in a very popular park with lots of people, so it’s very safe and has lots of parking. While you’re essentially doing a loop, there’s multiple alternate routes you can take each time around that give you different views of the inner park. A few things to look at too. Zoo walls, small bridges, ponds, ball fields, playgrounds, some shaded tree covered portions as well. Great for walking too.
