Join Social-Summit Lodge #50, the local Masonic Lodge in Canaan, NH, and Mascoma Valley Recreation for their seventh annual "4 for the 4th"! We have partnered with the Friends of Canaan Village and the Canaan Recreation Department to offer a bigger, better event for 2019. This year, in addition to the 5k Race, Walk and Kid's Fun Run, we will include a Kid's Bike Parade and a bike ride event on the Rail-Trail for adults and children. There will be prizes for top 5k race finishers and free giveaways for all registered participants in the running, walking and biking events! The Masonic Lodge and the Friends of Canaan Village will serve refreshments for all registered participants at the finish line. Show your national pride and run or walk in red, white and blue, and help raise money for some great causes! NEW THIS YEAR - We will be running, walking and riding on the beautiful Northern Rail-Trail Events:1 1) 5k run for all ages 2) 3k walk for all ages 3) 1k Fun Run or walk for children 5 & under 4) Bike Events (this includes a Kid's Bike Parade event - see below for details) At the "4 for the 4th" there is something for everyone...running, walking or riding your bike! • There will be: o FREE giveaway for all registered participants (guaranteed for all participants registered by June 21st) o 2019 "4 for the 4th" shirts available for purchase o Prizes for top male and female finishers in the 5k o Completion prize for all kids in the “Fun Run” o Prizes for all children participating in the Bike Parade The “Kids Fun Run” is for kids 5 and under and will begin at 9:00am. Same day registration begins at 7:30 AM at the Social- Summit Lodge on School Street in Canaan. Kid’s Bike Parade will start at 8:30 AM at the Social-Summit Lodge, the Kid's 1k Fun Run will start at ~9:00 AM, 5k Road Race, 3k Walk and Rail-Trail Bike Ride begin at 9:30 AM. The Kid's Bike Parade is for children of all ages! Participants are encouraged to decorate their bike in a patriotic theme and there will be prizes for all participants. Bike Parade participants will ride from Canaan Elementary School to Depot Park in Canaan (approx. 1/4 mile). At the conclusion of the bike parade, the Kid's 1k Fun Run will begin. All proceeds will go to support Mascoma Valley Parks & Recreation, and the charitable efforts of the Masons of Social Summit Lodge #50, which include college scholarships for local high school students, Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth, Indian River School special events, Canaan Recreation and many more. WHERE: Meet us on the Corner of Canaan Street and School Street, Canaan, NH at Social-Summit Lodge #50 and we will all walk over to the race start point at 8:30am. The race starts at Depot Park in Canaan. WHEN: July 6th, 2019 7:30AM for same day registration 8:30AM Kid's Bike Parade Starts 9:00AM Kid's 1k Fun Run Starts, followed by a 9:30AM start for the 5k, 3k and Bike Ride
