We will work with students from Owatonna High School - Agriculture Classes and Science Classes - to scour the banks of Izaak Walton Creek. It begins in the countryside outside Owatonna, MN., and runs through the eastern part of the community. We will pick up trash, cut and drag out Buckthorn (an invasive species). A small section of the Creek runs through two undeveloped city parks so we will work with the Owatonna Parks and Recreation to coordinate our efforts. The project will clean debris from the stream bed and banks, cut and remove buckthorn and other invasive species.
