In 1890, N.O. Nelson moved his manufacturing company from St. Louis to Leclaire, the village he built. A model company town with many employee benefits. Buildings are now home to a campus of the Lewis & Clark Community College. The trail runs right by it.

Turned around and moved to opposite side of old rail alignment. This is the track side of the former station, near the large Leclaire train yards of yesteryear. Awaiting funds for restoration.
