This is an example of two of five examples of heavy erosion on the trail. This pic was taken on a recent ride (11-17-13). Hope this trail gets some support funding soon. It is a truly beautiful place and a very nice ride.

Be sure to ride the trails around Cockspu Island / Fort Pulaski while you're here. Yes, there is an entry fee at the gate, but it's for a good cause of maintaining the place.

Besides wildlife, the channel is a very busy place for container ships. You will likely see two or four on any typical 1/2 day on the island.

The trail embankments have been repaired on netted 'blocks' of oyster shells. The trail itself was 'fresh,' in need of some rain for compaction. Mountain bike tires were very useful for traction.
