LIMEKILNS, Cross County Trail (PA)

Cross County Trail (PA)
LIMEKILNS
I took this photo at Germantown Pike and Chemical Rd. These Mid-1800`s Limekilns are the remains of an industry that began in the Village of Plymouth Meeting in 1688. A Limekiln is a furnace for reducing limestone or shells to lime by burning.
