Located on an island in the Detroit River between the United States and Canada., Belle Isle Park is 982-acres and offers a variety of recreational activities, including biking, swimming, boating/paddling, fishing, and much more. Explore the island via the paved pathways that connect its many attractions.
The park has an aquarium, a conservatory, a nature center, a museum, a golf course, a zoo, a lighthouse, fountains, playgrounds, lots of athletic fields and courts, educational opportunities, historic sites, and many more recreational attractions. Bike and boat rentals are available. Restrooms, concessions, picnic shelters and pavilions, and other amenities are located throughout the park.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources oversees the maintenance of the island, but some facilities are managed by different organizations. Belle Isle Park is open year-round from 5am to 10pm and admission is free, but there is a fee to drive onto the island. Some facilities may have an entry fee and limited hours.
Parking is available at several locations on the island. View the TrailLink map for all options.
