The Girard Trail Connection, a 0.5-mile trail along a former railbed, is located behind CHI Health Immanuel and connects 72nd Street to an existing sidewalk on Girard Street.
About the Route
Running along a former Chicago and Northwestern Railway corridor, the trail is the first step in a major east-west trail project that aims to connect the Keystone Trail and Lake Cunningham to the Missouri River. This small, but mighty, trail provides a forested path through Omaha’s urban environment and aims to address gaps in safe spaces for outdoor recreation.
