Print Friendly MapRunning along the western edge of Wissahickon Creek, the Lincoln Drive Trail winds through Wissahickon Valley Park and offers a pleasant route sheltered by trees with views of the water. The 1.6-mile trail is paved and 12-feet-wide. There are also four newly resurfaced connector bridges along the route.
The trail provides a connection between two of Philadelphia’s very popular trails. At its southwest trailhead by the mouth of the Wissahickon Creek at Ridge Avenue, the trail meets the Schuylkill River Trail. The Lincoln Trail also provides access into the scenic Wissahickon Valley Park for cyclists from nearby areas like the Manayunk neighborhood and Center City. Just south of its northeast end, the trail connects to the Wissahickon Valley Park Trail at the shared Forbidden Drive trailhead.
Parking is available at a large shopping center parking lot (3720 Main St, Manayunk) near the southwest trailhead, at the Forbidden Drive trailhead, and in a small linear lot at the northeast endpoint. Visit the TrailLink map for detailed directions.
The Wissahickon Transportation Center (4918 Ridge Avenue by Lincoln Drive) provides numerous bus connections and is located across from the southwest trailhead. There is a small gravel lot that may be available. The SEPTA Wissahickon Rail Station (5100 Rochelle Avenue) is located nearby. Visit the SEPTA website for more information.
This trail handily connects the Schuylkill River trail to the Wissahickon Valley Trail. This allows you to park along the river on Kelly Drive and make your way over to Wissahickon if that is your goal.
