Overlooking Georgetown in northwest DC, Montrose Park is a sixteen-acre park that has a playground, picnic tables, restrooms, water stations, informational and interpretative kiosks, benches, open green spaces, and brick pathways. The Ropewalk is a straight, paved path that was originally used for the spinning and twisting process used to make hemp into lengths of rope.
Dumbarton Oaks Parks (on R St between 31st St & Avon Pl) is located on the north side of the park. Rock Creek runs along the west side of the park.
There is no designated parking for the park, but 2-hour street parking is available on the surrounding streets and neighborhoods.
