I came here for a morning run and was very pleased with how scenic the trail was. Some parts are still under construction and is not suitable for biking. Also, try to get here before 9am and you don’t have to pay any entrance fees. Also, only the south entrance is accessible.
The trail is very scenic,Still in a state of disrepair with weeds. One bridge has already started to re wash out.The recent repairs with the gravel has made some parts more like a trail run.No restrooms or port a John.
Paved and well marked. Restrooms at each end. Bring your bug spray!
Paved and well marked. Several benches set up along the route for relaxing and viewing the tidal creeks and wildlife. Bathrooms are just a few port-a-potties set up….so plan accordingly. We ride the trail and then ride the city streets down to Waterfront Park and marina. These streets are wide with speed limit of 30MPH.
I love the historic markers. It’s fun to see the locals fishing on the trestles. The marsh is beautiful. I rode from beginning to end and back!
My husband and I walked the trail and returned after a few days with our bikes. The only entrance is at the Fort Pulaski gate area. The last mile of the trail is still being cleared, however, we had no problem riding our bikes to the end.
Beautiful, scenic, flat, with wide smooth concrete trail with some shade and great views. Not many other riders or people on the trail on a Saturday in mid June. Plenty of trailheads and parking, but few restrooms on trail (plenty of gas stations, convenience stores just off trail) Some newer hotels actually on the trail as it passes close to Hwy 21. Worth the trip if you’re in the Savannah area
The main section is almost done. Hopefully they open it this summer and close off only the section that still needs repairs (from the curve to Elba island).
This park is a great place to take a walk with my two little dogs. I take my dogs for a walk almost every morning.
Quiet scenic trail around Beaufort.
can anyone confirm the conditions & status of the trail?
