Bloom Township High School in the south suburban metropolitan Chicago area is on the National Register of Historic Places for its noteworthy historical style. The four-story high school is an exceptional example of Art Deco architecture, with vertical orientation of the central tower and geometric ornamentation surrounding it. The original exterior represents some of Chicago’s finest large-scale decorative terra cotta work in existence today. Just a block north off the trail, this beautiful structure is worth passing by!
