Brookville’s Railroad Depot and Caboose sit along the former train tracks leading from Dayton to Point West, Ohio. The expansion of the railroad in the mid-1800s greatly contributed to the growth of the village of Brookville. The large train caboose was a 1969 Chessie System—C&O 90365. Over time, the caboose became faded and worn and has since been sandblasted and repainted to remain in good condition. The Railroad Depot and Caboose is a reminder of the early history of Brookville and the crucial role the railroad played in expanding the local economy.
