Ohiopyle State Park

Great Allegheny Passage

Nature & Environmental Management Railroads

The view around Ohiopyle Falls has changed since this etching was made in 1787, but the river itself looks remarkably unchanged more than 200 years later.

Although Ohiopyle State Park was officially created in the 1960s, the area has been a natural escape from the industrialized cities of Western Pennsylvania since the 1870s. Today the park offers hiking and biking trails, boating and fishing opportunities, camping and picnicking areas, and a visitor center.
