Alki Trail Description

The Alki Trail rides along the northern and eastern shore of West Seattle along Alki Avenue. Largely riding on a widened sidewalk, separated from traffic by a parking lane and curb, traffic on the trail is separated for bikes and walkers, providing a less stressful experience for walkers and bikers alike. As the trail turns south, it runs inland toward the West Seattle bridge, which it traverses with a separated biking lane. With a tricky intersection along West Seattle Bridge, as well as high car traffic, this portion should be handled with great caution.

Parking and Trail Access

Street parking on Alki Avenue is available for the full length of the trail. There are a handful of parking lots for beach access and public greenspaces. Parking near the eastern terminus may prove difficult, as it is largely industrial.

Alki Trail Reviews

Fun way to see Seattle, be patient!

This is an enjoyable ride on a sunny and/or dry day. Great views of the city. Lots of restaurants and people watching on the west part of the trail. If the weather is great, be prepared for lots of people walking/skating/randomly standing on the trail.

Lovely waterfront view

Very pleasant ride. On warm days has a combination of skate boarders, joggers and families walking. The rode is divided for wheeled vs pedestrians in certain places.

Longboarders

Complete Flat Ground for all Longboards but it is pretty short of a ride if you attend to push yourself to the limit, lots of food and much more!

Watch for roots on sidewalk

Great trail around north end, however numerous roots in sidewalk the further south you get on the west side. Also, quite busy with walkers and runners if weather is decent. Be careful
