Amole Arroyo Trail Description

Named for the brown-concrete covered arroyo that the trail runs on top of (in turn deriving its name from a type of soap plant found throughout the area), the Amole Arroyo Trail takes this corridor that plays an important role in water management and flood control and turns it into a useful commuting and recreation path for cyclists and pedestrians. With the Snow Vista Trail and the Westgate Trail, the paved pathway forms a linked trail network that courses throughout the residential areas in southwestern Albuquerque. At the trail's southern end, the nine-mile Unser Boulevard Trail intersects it at a bridge over the arroyo, providing a useful sidepath route for trail users to consider.

A useful asset for local residents, with connections to several schools and neighborhood parks, the Amole Arroyo Trail and its connecting trails help provide some degree of connectivity in an area far outside Albuquerque's downtown core.

Parking and Trail Access

Limited parking is available at Silver Tree Park, located at the intersection of Silver Tree Drive and Stony Creek Road just to the east of the trail and arroyo.
