Although just 2.5 miles long, the Angel of Goliad Hike and Bike Trail shares a wealth of Texas history as it traverses the scenic and tree-filled Goliad State Park and Historic Site. A fitting place to begin your journey is at the Angel of Goliad statue, which honors Panchita Alavez, who saved more than two dozen lives during the 1836 Goliad Massacre of the Texas Revolution. Adjacent to the statue is the Fannin Memorial Monument, which honors a Texas Army colonel who died in the massacre.
From there, you’ll pass the 1829 birthplace of Ignacio Zaragoza, the Mexican general who defeated the invading French in the 1862 battle celebrated today as Cinco de Mayo. The paved pathway travels north loosely paralleling S. Jefferson Street (Highway 183) and passes Mission Espíritu Santo, home to Franciscan monks in the 1700s.
The trail then veers west to follow the San Antonio River before its end at Market Street. At this end of the trail, you’ll find Branch Nature Park, a pleasant place to stop with benches, restrooms, drinking fountains, and a disc golf course.
At the southern end of the trail, parking is available in Goliad State Park and Historic Site (108 Park Rd. 6). At the north end of the trail, you’ll find parking in nearby Branch Nature Park (445 South Commercial St.).
This is a nice trail It's not super long but I do recommend it well taken care of Walking or biking
