Apple Creek Trail Description

Running between Edgewood Drive and Meade Street in Appleton, Wisconsin, is a ribbon of smooth asphalt winding alongside a reedy stream. The Apple Creek Trail is a recreational path that is open to multiple non-motorized uses including bike riding, jogging and dog-walking. The creek, as well as the holding ponds on Holland Road (at the east end of the trail) and at Ballard Road, are great places to watch waterfowl such as ducks, geese and blue herons.

At about the midpoint, the trail skirts the edge of the Youth Sports Complex soccer fields. Between the sports fields and Ballard Road, the creek is hidden behind a screen of trees and shrubs. The street crossing at Ballard is the only one on this route that is lighted.

Beyond Ballard Road, the trail curves around the southern edge of the second holding pond before coming to its conclusion on Meade Street. Benches and trash receptacles have been placed at intervals along the trail, while gates mark the beginning and endpoints. There are also portable restrooms on the trail.

Parking and Trail Access

Park at the Scheels USA Youth Sports Complex, located at 3300 E Evergreen Dr, Appleton. Parking lot A is closest to the trail.

Apple Creek Trail Reviews

An easy walk.

Easy to walk; hard to find parking - I used Scheel’s Sports complex. Too built up along the trail easy to walk; hard to find parking - I used Scheel’s Sports complex. Too built up along the trail

nice

Flat and windy but nice curves and beautiful scenery.

This is an easy and enjoyable trail. Smooth surface, very well maintained and clean. A great route to the Little Cute area and various locations in Appleton without risks from heavy traffic.
