Auburn Trail (Brighton-Pittsford) Description

The Auburn Trail is almost entirely sheltered on either side by trees as it meanders through residential and commercial areas. Running along the same former rail corridor as the Auburn Trail (Pittsford-Farmington), this stone dust trail provides connections between neighborhoods, schools, shops and community centers in Brighton and Pittsford. With both the Council Rock Primary School and The Harley School on the trail's route, walking or biking to school is an appealing option for local residents.

The trail is 10-feet-wide with a smooth flat surface and ADA-accessible. In Brighton, the trail begins by a small community garden called Helmut's Garden (1 Village Ln) and then winds its way south through a mix of residential and commercial areas to Pittsford, where it ends near the Erie Canal.

Looking for a longer adventure? Try spending some time on the Erie Canalway Trail, a 290-mile long trail that follows the Erie Canal through upstate New York. It's possible to access it near the southern end of the Auburn Trail in Pittsford by taking the short connector trail known as the Frog Pond Trail, or by taking a short detour through the neighborhood.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available in a lot on Grove St by the Pittsford trailhead.

Auburn Trail (Brighton-Pittsford) Reviews

Great Trail

I did a bike ride from my house to the Erie canal and then I biked along the trail. It was safe with it having warning light beacons at most road junctions to warn drivers. I definitely was happy to add this trail to my list of new trail discoveries. I definitely recommend this trail.
