Bellevue Rivervue Trail Description

Just as the charming little city of Bellevue lies nestled against the banks of the Mississippi River, the Bellevue Rivervue Trail lies nestled in the corridor between the active rail line and the state highway that run through the center of town. The trail clocks in at just over two miles, running from the northern edge of town and out into the less densely populated reaches further up the river, giving the neighborhoods, RV park, and several hotels an easy means of reaching downtown via the trail.

On the trail's southern end, a series of sidewalks will connect you to another little path that the city has built in its charming Riverview Park. Just a block south of the start of the trail is the small David Ensign Memorial Park, which serves as a nice staging ground for those taking the trail out-and-back. Trail users should exercise caution when crossing the railroad tracks; the trail has a large buffer from the adjacent highway, which provides some additional safety and helps allow users to better admire the views of the river to the east. The Bellevue Rivervue Trail is a great example of a small community making sure their transportation infrastructure serves the needs of a variety of users.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available at the southern end of the trail at David Ensign Memorial Park on Ensign Road off of 399th Avenue. Additional parking may be available at the northern end of the trail in the adjacent hotel parking lot on 395th Avenue; be sure to follow any posted parking signs.
