Print Friendly MapThe Bethel Pathway is a bucolic pathway open for walking, mountain biking, walking dogs and in the winter, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. The trail begins on Sunset Road as a crushed stone pathway, tracing its way west along Intervale Road and Walkers Mill Road to reach the main trailhead at Davis Park. The park marks the transition point for the trail, as the surface for the next half switches to asphalt. The pathway continues west, past the skate park, as well as a covered bridge, mimicking the course of the Androscoggin River, although the trees shield the river from view for most of the way. The wooded route winds up to US Highway 2, where there’s another trailhead, and then progresses north over the Adroscoggin River on a single span bridge. The bridge offers the best views of the water below. Once across the river, the trails loops around behind the Big Adventure Center water slide and ends on North Road.
The main trailhead is Davis Park in Bethel, at the intersection of Walkers Mills Road/SR 26 and Parkway Road. There’s parking and restrooms, as well as a playground and skatepark for kids to enjoy.
For the eastern (gravel) half, there is parking on Sunset Road.
For the western (paved) half, additional parking is available on Mayville Road behind the gas station just south of the river crossing. You can also park at the Big Adventure Center lot next to the water slide.
Nice little pathway, scenic. Small parking lot next to a playground and skate park.
