Print Friendly MapThe Bloomsburg Rail-Trail runs for a short distance along the former rail bed on the northwest side of town. Following the east bank of Fishing Creek, the trail stretches between Millville Road just south of I-80 and Railroad Street near where the road crosses the river.
A parking lot is available mid trail, near the intersection of Millville Road and Irondale Road.
Had a nice ride on the trail and in the town
Once you hit the "end" of the trail, you'll come out by a bulk tire center. Cross the road, go through the parking lot, and head for the trees. You'll see another trail head. It's also 1.5 miles and so much nicer then the first half. When you're driving down the highway from buckhorn to light st. Look left you'll see the trail.
I found this trail really pretty - especially along the creek with the exposed rock. It's definitely not all asphalt though, its a mix of gravel. There's easy parking at Steve Shannon Tires as well.
This trail is located just behind my home. Very convenient. And because it allows dogs, I'm delighted to have it in my back yard. My first time using it, last week, found no issues. Trail was clean, except for random dog poo, from people to lazy to clean up after their pooch. That's to be expected. However, last evening I took my dog for a quick walk and found several broken beer bottles on the trail. Whether, they came from someone actually walking the trail (which I doubt) or from the college housing above, I'm not sure. Either way, I'm not sure I want to bring my dog back, for fear she'll cut her foot on a piece of broken bottle. Also, I noticed that the bags provided to walkers to pick up their dogs poop were out. Not that it's an excuse to not clean it up, but it doesn't help any. (We always carry our own) Overall, it's a nice trail. Just watch your step!
