Boschert Greenway Description

The Boschert Greenway is a paved hike-and-bike trail located in St. Charles, Missouri. The greenway provides an eight-mile journey out-and-back, while connecting to other recreation destinations. The trail starts in New Town and heads southeast along crop fields into Fox Hill Park, with its playground, picnic areas and ball fields. From the park, the trail begins to parallel the Little Hills Expressway to Mel Wetter Parkway/ N. 5th Street, where it winds up onto the SR 370 overpass. The trail is adjacent to 5th Street until about the Blanchette Park area. The greenway branches slightly from 5th Street for its final stretch before terminating at Olive Street.

Those looking to extend their journey can ride on Olive Street the 1500 feet to the Blanchette Landing on Missouri River, where they can join the Katy Trail in St. Charles County. The Katy Trail then leads north along the river to DuSable Park, as well as to the protected bike-ped path on the SR 370 bridge, which carries them across the river into St. Louis County and onto the Missouri River Greenway: Earth City Levee Trail.

Parking and Trail Access

Park and find restrooms at Fox Hill Park (3309 Kister Drive). Another Fox Hill parking lot is on Huncker Drive southeast of the Fox Hill Park lakes. You can also park by the Katy Trail at Boschert Landing (100 Olive St)

Boschert Greenway Reviews

Nice Greenway trail in St. Charles

While the Boschert Greenway is a nice connection between the area parks, the asphalt is cracked and bumpy in several areas. I would rate it as a strong 3 stars, but not quite 4 stars. I’m hoping after the area’s construction projects are completed, the Greenway will be smoothed out. The newer paved section that runs parallel to the interstate has an incline and the is a long winding hill going into Fox Hill Park. The remaining parts of the trail are mostly flat. There are also a few benches along the trail.

Sweet ride to NewTown

This is a beautiful ride from the Katy to NewTown. We usually stop at Marsala's Market in NewTown for a snack. Don't miss the Blomstre flower sculpture made of old bike parts that towers over the intersection of Mel Wetter Parkway and the Little Hills Expressway
