Boulder Highway Trail Description

The Boulder Highway Trail follows its namesake roadway through southeast Henderson, providing access to numerous residential and commercial areas. There are several major street crossings along the way, at which trail users should be careful.

Near the trail's midpoint, the Saguaro Trail heads eastward to Roadrunner Park, Saguaro Park and Equestrian Park North. At E. Lake Mead Parkway, pick up the Lake Mead Parkway Trail instead to extend your journey north or south.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking and restrooms are available two blocks from the trail at Morrell Park (500 Harris Street). Follow the sidewalk northeast along N. Major Avenue to reach the park from the trail.

Boulder Highway Trail Reviews

Commuter Trail

This trail runs parallel to the Union Pacific Railroad Trail. It's more for utilized for residents and commuters to connect to local business and bus stops. Though it's usable, it seems very neglected. Numerous lights aren't working in the evening. The trail is either unfinished or abruptly ends without any actual connecting trails.

Has much potential but....

Of all the Henderson Trails, this one needs to most maintenance but receives the least. More than all the other trails in Henderson, this one gets filled with obstructions, covered in scree and always has glass breakage in it. Sadly, it seldom ever seems to get cleaned unless I do it all myself.

A commuter trail for locals....

The Boulder highway Trail parallels Boulder Highway on its north/south route through Henderson. Trail serves to connect you to local shopping and neighborhoods and connecting on street bike lanes and/or trails. As vacant parcels are developed along the alignment additional landscaping and amendities are added which enhance the trail experience. Trail is loated on both sides of highway in the south portions where vacant land and r.o.w. allows; in other locations you will only find it on one side or the other as existing r.o.w. has been developed without trail considerations. There are RTC bus stops located at mulitple stops along the trail route and all buses are equipped to handle bikes and wheelchairs.
