Print Friendly MapFollowing the western side of the creek through the heart of Wilmington, the Brandywine Creek Path offers a dose of pleasant, paved recreation within Delaware's busiest city. This short trail has no official name, serving chiefly as a connector trail for its larger sibling, the Northern Delaware Greenway Trail, but it does provide scenic opportunities of its own, as well as offering a connection between the city's Conaty Park, Happy Valley Park, and H. Fletcher Brown Park.
The pathway on the southeastern end of the trail is narrow concrete, expanding to wider asphalt for the remainder of the route after a short set of stairs leads down to the canal that parallels the creek. A pedestrian bridge at the trail's northern end allows for easy passage across the creek, as well as gorgeous views of the nearby railroad bridge.

Public parking is available at Conaty Park along Gilpin Avenue, although parking is limited to two hours on weekdays.
To reach the trailhead in Conaty Park from I-95 north of Wilmington, take exit 7B and continue right onto Gilpin Avenue for about a half mile. From south of Wilmington, take exit 7 onto North Adams Street and continue north to Delaware Avenue. Turn left onto Delaware Avenue and veer right at the fork to continue on Delaware, then turn right onto North Rodney Street and then left on Gilpin Avenue - the park and trailhead will be on the right.
