The Brush Creek Trail offers a serene and scenic walking and biking experience in southeast Kansas City. The concrete greenway occupies both the north and south banks of Brush Creek, which was channelized to improve flood control, although the north branch continues unbroken to Blue Banks Park, while the southern segment ends further west at MLK Jr. Square Park. In fact, in addition to uninterruped views of the water, there's plenty of green space surrounding the trail as it threads through several parks. The southern segment also connects to the Harry Wiggins Trolley Track Trail at Volker Boulevard & 49th Street. The are plenty of stores and restaurants near the west end of the trail.
You can park on the street along Ward Parkway (be sure to follow any posted signs), or in any of the parks along the trail including Frank A Theis Park (Rockhill Road) and MLK Jr. Square Park (Woodland Avenue and, Swope Pkwy).
