In the heart of Omaha, the Burt Street Trail provides an east-west route between N. 20th Street and N. 30th Street paralleling its namesake roadway. Along the way, it traverses the Creighton University campus, providing a useful commuting route for students and faculty. The bike route is part of the Bike Omaha Network, which spans more than 30 miles across the city, and is near a handful of bike-sharing B-Cycle Stations which are within a few short blocks of the path. At N. 28th Plaza, travelers will find a bike repair station, and—two blocks farther west—a connection to the Turner Boulevard Trail, which offers access to Leavenworth Park, Dewey Park and Turner Park.
On-street parking is available along Burt Street.
I've lived in Omaha for 30 years and never knew this route was here. I was able to connect it with side streets and ride from my house near Memorial park to the Bob Kerrey Bridge thus avoiding the major streets with more traffic.
