Cadiz Railroad Trail Description

The Cadiz Railroad Trail runs for 2.5 miles between an old railroad depot on State route 139 and Fortner Drive at the east end of town. The trail parallels Noel Drive and Lafayette Street, following an old corridor of the Cadiz Railroad. The rail once hauled tobacco from Cadiz to Gracey, where it joined the Illinois Central and Louisville & Nashville railroads.

Parking and Trail Access

Park at the old railroad depot along State Route 139N between Depot and Lafayette streets.

Ok route. I would recommended parking in the school lot. Otherwise you cross a busy road. Need a trail, hybrid or mountain for the trail by the railroad

Stopped and rode the trail on May 30. There are a couple of rough spots but was a good break on my road trip. Be sure and visit downtown Cadiz. You can access the trail by making a right hand turn at the sign directing you to the Post Office.
