Caldwell Station Creek Greenway Description

Caldwell Station Creek Greenway is 2.6 miles of paved, smooth multiuse trail through the woods and wetlands of Cornelius. The trail is a local treasure, popular with locals for a workout in nature, as well as for commuting between different neighborhoods, shopping, and restaurants. Caldwell Station Creek Greenway is included in the trail loop called the Emerald Necklace. At its northern end, the trail connects to the Bailey Road Multi-Use Path, which connects to the Plum Creek Greenway.

From its northeast end, the greenway begins on Old Statesville Drive/Highway 115 and heads southwest. Soon after you begin, you will enter the forest that is the setting for the rest of the trail, a mix of hard and softwoods that provide ample shade and coolness even on a summer day. Boardwalks carry users through sensitive wetland—note that they are slippery when wet. The trail is well-signed, with quarter mile markers and signs at access points. There are moderately hilly in some sections but there are trailside log benches in case you need a breather. The southern end of the trail is near the Northcross Shopping Center in Huntersville by the intersection of Statesville Road/US-21 and Northcross Center Court.

Parking and Trail Access

A gravel parking lot can be found at the Bailey Road trailhead (10000 Bailey Rd, Cornelius) and in several paved lots at Bailey Road Park (11536 Bailey Rd, Cornelius).

Caldwell Station Creek Greenway Reviews

Their is a wide concrete side walk to and down Bailey Road to the high school. At that point there is a cross walk that connects to the Greenway to Davidson and Antiquity.
