Print Friendly MapThe 6.1-mile Clarksville Greenway follows an abandoned rail bed on the outskirts of Clarksville north of town. The greenway meanders along a creek through a route canopied with large trees. The greenway helps establish a buffer along the Red River and nearby streams, while providing a habitat for diverse plant and animal species. There is a bike-share station at the Pollard Road Trailhead if you need to rent a bike for the ride.
From SR 374, turn south on Peachers Mill Road then left on Pollard Road, and continue for about 2 miles. The road ends at the Clarksville Greenway trailhead.

Wow, what a really nice trail. Nearly all the trail has canopy and we rode when the foliage was turning. Saw turkey and deer while riding. Great overlooks with swings to take a break and look at the scenery. Diffently a 5 star trail.
this trail is great. nice views, great canopy of shade, some hills... it had tons of people out on it today. the only thing i didn't love was there is signage on the trail for bikers to dismount before going down steep hills. they are quite steep with sharp turns, so i could see there being some close calls with pedestrians. the southern half of the trail had a lot fewer walkers, so it made for better biking. there are lots of dirt trails that shoot off into the woods that say not to ride a bike on them, but they look like they are open to hiking.
The Greenway is a nice walking and biking trail for kids and beginners. The North Ford Street Mountain Bike Trails come right up to the Greenway at one point. The North Ford Street Trails and Rotary Park are both good mountain bike trails in Clarksville TN. http://cambatn.org
My wife & I rode this trail after riding the Cumberland River Bicentennial Trail on our way back home. We headed toward the “middle” TH. You may think you are on the wrong road but you will eventually arrive at the super nice TH with bathroom faculties, maps & a bike rental station. The trail is currently divided, with more planned, into (2) sections, Section B – South & Section C – West. We took Section B first, a nicely shaded trail but there are some +12% grades at old trestle locations (try to find the abutments). You will be ridding the bluff with the muddy Red River on your left until the trail abruptly ends at the treatment plant. Upon returning, we took Section C, this was more of a traditional RR trial. We crossed a beautiful, newly constructed bridge heading through residential areas toward the Greenway Pt. Track TH (you could park at Kenwood school on the weekends). Nice yet short trail but unexpectedly busy on a late Saturday afternoon.
I love to walk this trail. The dog owners are not cleaning up after pets.
One of the best walking paths in Clarksville! Very tranquil, lots of birds and deer to see. Part B of the greenway is more difficult due the hills and curves. The greenway combined is 10 miles. And will be extended in near future.

I moved from Clarksville five years ago and I miss this trail so much. I have thought about driving the 50 miles just to walk it again. In 2011 I walked there about three times a week (the entire length) and lost 35 lbs in a month. My only complaint is that dogs are allowed on the trail and owners don't clean up after them. Other than that, it is the best. Lots of places to sit and rest and the water stations will save you walking in some of the strenuous parts. Especially in the summer. You will not be disappointed.
Love, love, love, this trail! I have lived in this area for about 20 years and this is my favorite trail find so far. It is shaded and hilly. Great for an afternoon stroll or bike ride. We took our dog and it was perfect!
Lucked out to find this trail by running into this web application and zipped over in the morning to get 3 miles in. Gorgeous views. cool bridge. The non-hilly portion is still not flat so that is also cool if you're used to trails versus paved paths.
What a surprising find in Clarksville.
Best trail i have ever been on. so peaceful, and very relaxing trail. only thing is it needs more water stations, was parched by the time i was finished, didnt realize i needed to bring my own. very beautiful!
In my opinion this is the epitome of rail trails. It is scenic with nice views throughout. The main access is near the middle and the two halves are different.
Starting at the trailhead at the end of Pollard Road, the north end of the trail goes through a forest with several old railroad cuts. The trail borders some local neighborhood which, although they don't have parking, they have local access and, at least the day I was there, the locals take advantage of it. This half of the trail was full of families walking the trail. A lot of ladies with strollers. I didn't have any trouble navigating around them (the trail is plenty wide enough).
The southern half of Greenway is similar terrain but is not in a developed area. There are very few houses nearby and thus there were much fewer bikes and hikers. There were also 2 spots where there obviously used to be RR trestles to cross ravines but they were gone. In both cases the trail goes down to the bottom and back up the other side. It was a challenge to see if you could make it back up the other side with your momentum gained from the downhill run. The southern half has no access points and ends overlooking a water treatment plant.
I hope to get back to Clarksville again and when I do, I will be sure and ride this again. I imagine that it is gorgeous in the fall.
This greenway is beautiful...we walked the zone b trail (right 2.6 mile) and it was great. There are two large hills that kicked my butt however it was worth the views and the workout. I was told by a couple while there you can park at the Kenwood schools and make this a total of a nine mile journey from start to end. Once my endurance is built up I will for sure be trying that option!

I've read the previous reviews and agree totally! I wish there were more trails like this! I work on the north side of town, so it is convenient to walk here after work. It is safe, clean, and beautiful! I do wish the water fountains were available earlier and stayed on later in the seasons. There is nothing like this on the south side of town where I live. Clarksville is a huge family community. We could support a paved and maintained trail in all quadrants of the county!
This is a beautifully scenic trail. I wish there were more like it in Clarksville.
Great place to ride my bike, get away from the unforgiving streets. Wish this trail was 25 miles long.

I have been walking my dog on the trail for a long time. I am at a lost as to why on side has water along the trail and the other side is has none. You would think that there should be water on both side of the trail I do not see that it would cost the tax payer that much money to add a few more water stations.
This is a great place to go walking. My son loves to sit in his stroller and observer all that is around him. The trail is clean and super nice. Most everyone greets you and I feel super safe being there especially by my self.
Perfecto para caminar, correr, correr bicleta o dar un paseo caminando con tus hijos. Hay dos caminos uno de 2 millas que ida y vuelta son 4 ; y otro de 2.5 que ida y vuelta son 5. El area es muy limpia se asemeja a un paraiso natural.
This is Clarksville,Tn. little secret. This is a jewel of a Greenway! From the trailhead at the end of Pollard Rd. we went right(south) on the 2.6 mile leg of the trail and was canopied virtually all the way. There are TWO steep gullies where trestles USED TO BE so be prepared to shift gears or walk your bike up the other side! This is a beautiful section of the Greenway and less traveled except for the serious walker/rider at heart because of the gullies. The northern section is actually now 2 miles long since the bridge/trestle was completed. It is kind of "uphill" going this way but the return trip is easy. Most of the walkers and runners get here early and choose this side because it's easier to do in less time. To be in an urban setting you'd never really know that you were near a city except for the occasional horn or diesel truck gearing down. This gets a 5 of % star rating !! We'll do this again when in town.
